Expect beautiful words sounds, contemplation and images from guests Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Frances Hatherley, Sonya Dyer, Ego Ahaiwe Sowinski, Aqui Thami, Michelle Deignan, Charlotte Squire, Chloe Carrter, Alice O'Donnell and Polly Murphy. My contribution (8 minutes in total) comprises an essay on living within the vernacular, being unfixable (as a person, body, as an identity, class, universal gaze), and questioning languages and structures of progress as practices of exclusion.How to make a world in which we can express our fullest being, and hear and see, in relation? My contribution focused on two questions posed by Anne for the participants: One was a contribution about being an artist from a working class background, and the other a song that may express our feeling, or describe a state of being. My song choice was Anohni - I hope there is someone This, to me is the place where things become possible, where there is a holding, action, a blur of neither / and. There is where a softness emerges as a refusal to be fixed. |
