InteractML is a project I am leading in collaboration with Professor Rebecca Fiebrink. Funded by Google's Focused Research Award ($20,000), InteractML aims to develop new interactive machine-learning tools for commercial game developers facilitating the creation of richer gameplay interactions involving gestures, sensors, audio and video data. It allows game developers to build more inclusive interfaces for the general audience and disabled gamers. Also, we made interactive machine learning usable for artists and designers who could not code.

We partnered as co-investigators, including Marco Gillies (PI), Bruno Martelli, and Ruth Gibson to incorporate InteractML into a research project, 4i: Immersive Interaction Design for Indie Developers with Interactive Machine Learning. (£497,829) From January 2020 to September 2021, this project supported independent developers and artists designing movement interactions for Virtual Reality. We hired PhD student Clarice Hilton and postdoctoral researcher Nicola Plant. Nicola Plant now works as an AL at UAL. This work was exhibited to the public in a daylong conference at Goldsmiths.
 
I received £21,000 in funding from an Epic Games Mega Grant to redevelop the tool for Epic's Unreal. As of this week (17/10/2022), we have 50,092 users on the Epic Marketplace. Further, MSc students at the Creative Computing Institute now use InteractML in their thesis work. InteractML was awarded the UAL Innovation of the Year from the Knowledge Exchange.
