idyls: Kimathi Donkor

'idyls: Kimathi Donkor' was a solo exhibition of paintings held at DKUK in London, depicting visions and memories of love and companionship in places of serenity. Evocative landscapes and figures reflect the artist's lived experience and bear titles suggesting the transcendence of faith, myth and belief. Figurative compositions are created in the studio through an improvisational process that forgoes reference imagery, relying instead on memory, contemplation and imagination for source material.
