This three-day online symposium explored how societies around the globe are responding and adapting to population ageing - a global phenomenon that has emerged as a result of social and economic development.

Day One: Embracing the Silver Economy and opportunities from ageing

How are economic systems adapting to cater to and engage with elders as active economic agents in society?

With an ageing population, elders take on non-traditional roles within the economy, both as producers and as consumers. People live longer and healthier lives, and are able to reinvent themselves and their careers through this trajectory. Retirement is increasingly seen as an opportunity to live life to the fullest and people over retirement age are increasingly contributing to global economies.
