The above works were exhibited in two adjoining rooms at the Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah, UAE, from 7th February to 11th June 2023. The works address historical themes of discrimination, violence, race and resistance in the UK. Jean Charles de Menezes borne aloft by Joy Gardner and Stephen Lawrence was first exhibited at the 29th Sao Paulo Biennale in 2010. Madonna Metropolitan: the death of Cynthia Jarrett, Under Fire: The Shooting of Cherry Groce and On Duty: The Death of Keith Blakelock were first exhibited in the solo exhibition 'Fall/Uprising' at the Bettie Morton Gallery, London, 2005. The five works on paper were first exhibited in the Fine Art Degree show, Goldsmiths College, London 1987. The archival selection of journals, pamphlets and flyers feature designs by the author created between 1985 and 1995.
