The works listed above were displayed in the solo exhibition and knowledge exchange project 'Daddy, I Want To Be A Black Artist' held at Peckham Space, London in 2013. Collaborating with the 'Leaders of Tomorrow' black school children’s education project in Peckham, South London, Kimathi Donkor led children's workshops exploring the role of black artists at Tate, including visits to Tate Britain's conservation studios to view the restoration of a Donald Rodney artwork, and to the Meschac Gaba exhibition at Tate Modern. Based on these experiences, the artist created new drawings, paintings and an interactive installation which went on display in the Peckham Space gallery from 24th September — 24th November, 2013. The exhibition was accompanied by a programme of events, including a panel discussion at Chelsea College of Arts, a student workshop at Chelsea College of Arts and an 'In Conversation' with Prof Sonia Boyce at Peckham Space. The exhibition was accompanied by a folded poster/pamphlet.
