Happening to Be was a multi-disciplinary, six-week group exhibition held in 2012 at the Lethaby Gallery in Central Saint Martins, London.

"Happening To Be celebrates the work and achievements of Professor Ablade Glover, Ngozi Onwurah, Professor Andrew Ramroop OBE, Trevor Robinson CBE and Yinka Shonibare MBE – five distinguished artists, designers, and directors who 'happen to be’ black, and are also alumni from colleges of the University of the Arts London (UAL). The exhibition is curated by Kimathi Donkor on behalf of Shades of Noir, UAL."
