Description: | Included in the panel "Writing and Making the Constructed Environment: Grounding Creative Practices in Histories of Technology," this presentation introduced practice-based methods in my research and artwork related to the translations of technologies through circulating social bodies. I discuss technology in terms of technical ensembles of apparatuses and epistemologies within their sociohistorical contexts, and the interfaces or ruptures that might become apparent through the juxtaposition and intersection of different or asynchronous technologies and their histories. I then presented two recent projects, both of which aim to recuperate the layering of infrastructures over time as well as to articulate the potential consequences of making circulatory distribution systems visible. |
