Description: | Session 1: Keynote on From Encounter to Commitment: Mapping Meanings in the Moving Image, where I spoke about committed hybrid documentary practice as embodied research. Session 2: before the screening of my film Wayfaring Stranger Michael B McDonald and I spoke about working outside mainstream funding structures, how to call for counter strategies both formally as well as processes. We explored how filmmaking can be a tool for resistance in normalising, binary and extractive frameworks. We asked how might survivor led practice challenge industrious outside-in models, and what the poetics of co-authorship might look like. |
