Description: | "Water connects us all. Come and explore this sandbag maze designed for Thames Barrier Park. Made from 1040 sandbags, laid end to end to match the length of the Thames Barrier. The artwork invites conversation around environmental urgencies related to river water and defence infrastructure, alongside larger global conversations around water ecologies. Take some time to gently ebb and flow through the maze and find ways to sense the natural environment along the riverside." Commissioned by the Royal Docks Team, At the Docks’ Summer Commissions are 11 projects by creative organisations, local artists and young people, that respond to the theme of sustainability. Upon completion, sandbags donated to local garden projects and instructional tags (Take Care: Hear Water, See Water, Feel Water, Smell Water) recycled for 3d printing. |
