Description: | Included in the exhibition: The Mask Never Lies at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona) 'Gift of Masks' a project produced in Quebec City (2001) for a demonstration against the formation of the FTAA (Free Trade Agreement of the Americas). In the project the collective screen printed 4,000 masks in carnival colours, revealing a smile on anyones face who wore it, to counter the use of 5,000 rounds of teargas used against the protestors over the weekend. 10,000 masks, printed in four colours for the Reclaim the Streets 'Carnival against Capitalism' that took over the city of London financial district, on June 18th 1999 |
