Notes from the Amazon

“Notes from the Amazon” is a research essay resulting from Camilla's participation as guest curator in the LabVerde: Art Immersion Program in the Amazon in 2022. LabVerde functions as a multidisciplinary platform for the development of nature and ecology critical thinking. Artists, scientists and other agents of knowledge come together to recognise and narrate nature, in an attempt to create new ways of existing and interacting with the natural environment, as well as speculate on possible futures. Within the framework of the theme Speculative Ecologies, "Notes from the Amazon", published in the LabVerde catalogue 2022, is a personal and academic account of the embodied experience of the Amazon rainforest, and the intra-active relations between humans and non-humans, arts and nature.
