Space 118 Variations

Working as artist in residence in Space 118, Nichols created a new iteration of her Variations series. Her evolving composition with found objects, from steel to gravel and flour, became sheet music to be played by classical guitarist, Abhinav Saxena, and a score to be interpreted through movement by dancer Vaidehi Patel.

Through her collaborative performance Space 118 Variations, Nichols explores an interest in the blurring of disciplinary boundaries. Nichols, Saxena and Patel exchange tacit forms of knowledge live, as cross-disciplinary constellations are created, collapsed and rebuilt anew.
