Description: | I was invited as a scholar/practitioner by post graduate research students at the University College Dublin who have set up a virtual seminar series for our new Animal Studies Research Network at UCD as part of the Environmental Humanities strand. This series spans the whole academic year of 2024-2025, once a month. In solidarity with Palestinian colleagues, the first two seminars (in October and November) were about animals in Palestine. I was invited to speak about my ongoing work in Palestine, and especially in relation to animals in conflict zones, which was inspired by Penny Johnson. I presented an outline of my long-term commitment working with animals and more than human life forms, and to explore how we may see power relations emerging through this approach. |
