Focal Point Gallery is delighted to present a new site-specific artwork by Janette Parris for its annual railway bridge commission on Southend High Street.

Parris has responded to this unique location at the heart of Southend’s Town Centre by making new drawings that reimagine a familiar view. Considering the wider locality of Southend and everyday encounters as the basis for the work, Parris uses humour, digital drawing, animation, songs and conversations to question what might be taken for granted in the urban environment.
