Becoming Hybrid: Transdisciplinarity At The Crossover Of Science and Technology And Art and Design

A bilingual (English-Japanese) publication charting the first two years of the collaboration between Central Saint Martins and the former Tokyo Institute of Technology. Published in occasion of the academic Colloquium and MOU signing between the two institutions in May 2019, it explains the intellectual rationale underpinning the partnership based on the value of transdisciplinarity (Section 2: Why Transdisciplinarity Matters). It describes the projects that have taken place in the period 2017-2019 (Section 3: Collaboration). It shares insights and analysis from participants’ direct experience (Section 4: Reflection).
