Hope is a Discipline

The October Salon is the largest biennial in Central-Eastern Europe and this was the 60th edition. I was lead curator of ‘Hope is a Discipline’, 5-venue exhibition and public programme featuring 12 international artists and groups, 10 new commissions, within the 60th October Salon, Belgrade Serbia, October – December 2024

One of three invited Lead Curators of the ‘What’s Left?’ 60th October Salon, Belgrade Serbia, October – December 2024, Largest biennial in Central-Eastern Europe. Lead curator of ‘Hope is a Discipline’, 5-venue exhibition and public programme featuring 12 international artists and groups, 10 new commissions. I recruited team of local curators Emilia Epstajn and Ana Knezevic, brokered partnerships, led on fundraising from the British Council. Participated in the media campaign and wrote catalogue text. Key Achievement: Hope is a Discipline’ commissioned artists’ collective Karavan won the 2024 October Salon Award; commissioned artist Milica Dukic was awarded Special Mention and artist Adrian Melis won the second prize.
