| Description: | I present extracts of my Pazugoo art research. This is an intervention into the Nuclear Industry project of ‘marking’ sites of radioactive waste for long-term futures. Through a range of work, exhibitions, residencies and collaborations, I take a critical approach to some of the assumptions of this project, challenging ‘communication’ as a framework and asking how such ‘markers’ could be understood in a more radically ecological way. The work highlights the importance of speculative methods and fictions; underground diagrams connecting buried waste to planetary sites of extraction and toxicity, and rethinking the deep time continuum through colonial histories and more-than-human futures. |
