| Description: | Painting 06: assisted fresco (2025) is the sixth painting from a series of monochromes made in reference to Roman frescoes and BSR Fellowship residency. The work is an arrangement of two monochromes held by a domestic door plate. The metal shield suggests the monochromes to be in use, part of a doorway, or greater interior setting. The colour refers to a recently uncovered light green ancient pigment made by mixing red ochre, Egyptian blue, and baryte and alunite (a volcanic sulphate deposit formed by pressure, heat, and water); the juxtaposition creating both synergy and tension between the material surfaces. |
