The workshop delivered at 10documents explored thematic possibilities for future collaboration and a solo exhibition in 2026. The workshop framed by ideas of hospitality and improvisation – addressed ways in which painting, sound, photography and performance could be integrated into a living archive and included readings of a text by the artist, ‘The Tyre’ – which recalled childhood memories of a road trip in South America, essay readings from Art as Policies for Care: Socially Engaged Art, and further readings from Diana Taylor’s The Archive and the Repertoire exploring the role of performance in the Americas as a means of storing and transmitting knowledge, as a repertoire of embodied memory—conveyed in gestures, the spoken word, movement, dance, song, and other performances. This theme of memory was further explored with Polaroid photographs taken by artist and curator at the workshop to explore a looping, folding and mirroring of time, discussing these photographs posible inclusion in a future project. |
