| Description: | This edited book showcases ethics and ethical considerations in Practitioner Research, alongside practical strategies, and reflections, on how to navigate ethical issues throughout all stages of research from planning, data collection and analysis, through to outputs and circulation. Practitioner Research occurs across most disciplines and hence is interdisciplinary in nature. In knowing different disciplines have different ethical requirements, this edited book will offer new interdisciplinary insights, divergent views and overlapping concerns on ethical processes and practices. The book presents 9 Chapters by practitioners from various fields discussing ethical challenges, alongside participatory methods and research praxis in their active research projects, whilst surfacing the inseparable relationship between researchers and their ethics. Each chapter is followed by 2 respondents, from different or allied fields, giving their responses to the chapter and contributing from their own ethical context. Therefore, the book models how learning can be transferred and applied to new research settings and contexts. As editors, we are aware of the power imbalances inherent to practitioner research, especially in relation to other research paradigms and hence, will take an ethically pluralist stance (Mason 2018), via an inclusive approach to publication that fosters argument, debate, and response. There is still very limited literature available on the practicalities of navigating ethics in Practice As Research, hence, this edited book aims to fill that gap in the market. |
