Description: | Fashion, styling, photography, film, music and dance were brought together for a fashion-in-motion performance inspired by the Barbican Art Gallery exhibition 'Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion' (15 October 2010 - 6 February 2011) and the diversity of East London. The 'Disruption' performance was the culmination of a three-month project which showcased bespoke designs created by a group of 50 young people from East London, working alongside professionals from the Barbican Centre (Tony Charalambous, Creative Director), London College of Fashion Course Tutors, and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, as part of the LCF Widening Participation programme. The fashion film and photographs were screened on 29th January 2011 at the Barbican Centre; they were also published online through Dazed and Confused magazine on DazedTV. |
