Description: | A live work performed during two days of discussion and new commissions that begin a dialogue about the intersection between performance and visual practice. 'Taking two very different local texts, the Loughborough Echo and the University’s Sports Science & Systems Engineering website as a starting point, Jennet Thomas, in a two-handed, live collage of absurd collisions of rhetoric, sound, text and image, will mine through the latent ideologies, varied human aspirations and mysteries of Loughborough life. Poetic, analytical and mischievous, Jennet’s, dialectic-cum-duel lecture, occasionally makes sense and sometimes makes a structured anarchy of sense-making nonsense.' |
Keywords/subjects not otherwise listed: | Performance Lecture, live collage, textual cut-up, dialectic-cum-duel,structured anarchy,sense-making nonsense, surrealist methodologies, absurd, Poetic, Rhetoric |
