Description: | Michael Borremans is a painter and film maker who lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. Solo shows include the Parasol Unit, London, Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver and De Appel, Amsterdam. Recent groups shows include the Palazzo Grassi, Venice; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Moderna Museet, Stockholm and MOMA New York. He is represented by David Zwirner Gallery in New York and Zeno X Gallery, Antwerp. In affiliation with Paintclub. Paintclub was a UAL research network. Painting here is defined as an expanded field that relates to the histories and traditions of painting. Our activities publicly explore and debate what it means to research painting within the context of contemporary art practice. |
