Description: | ‘Protest’ is a new publication by the Citizen Artist that sets out to organise and archive the visual motifs and public symbols of a protest from images available on google. By appropriating ephemeral imagery via image grabs, this publication seals one internet search, one moment of information in time and categorises the material for a mini archive in the form of a printed publication. To date, the publication consists of a map with one side displaying a selection of protest routes that have been followed in London over the past 10 years. The flip side shows a collection of photographs of protesters with raised arms, the universal symbol of opposition, police barricades and images of burning placards and flags. The map is accompanied by a set of cards of protesters in costume with painted faces and/or masks. |

More printed matter will be added to the publication over time. However, it is available to customers at any point in the process with the understanding that requests for subsequent additions to the publication can be made at anytime. |
