Description: | Group exhibition. ‘Museum Futures: Exploring Partnerships and Public Engagement’ comprised an exhibition and event with supporting catalogue and website which I initiated and project managed. It comprised an exhibition of work by LCC student groups around the theme of museums, sustainability and collaborative practice located in the LCC Gallery and containers in the Triangle area. Students designed and built the installation and curated the exhibition space. The event involved a range of activities including: ‘museum interventions’, films produced by BA (Hons) Creative Advertising Strategy students; a discussion about self-organisation and radical educational practices with education officers from the Serpentine Gallery and South London Gallery; and a crit of student work by representatives from the Cuming Museum and Muf architects focused around the benefits of cross-sector creative collaborations. The evening concluded with a discussion focusing on partnerships and public engagement with invited speakers Sharon Heal, Editor of the Museums Journal, Sally MacDonald, Director of UCL Museums & Collections, Dr Ken Arnold Head of Public Programmes at the Wellcome Trust and Professor Graeme Evans, Director of the Cities Institute at London Metropolitan University. |
