| Description: | Jardim Porcelanico was an installation at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, created to mark the conclusion of my fellowship with the Gulbenkian Science Institute and to coincide with the International Colloquium on the image in science and art, curated by the Centre for Philosophy of Science, University of Lisbon. The work, situated in the main entrance of the Foundation extends the tradtion of floral decoration in ceramics consisted of a collection of fifty cellular shaped porcelain plates decorated with micro-cellular images collected from Portuguese wildflowers. The plates floated on top of a canvas 3.5 x 3.5m printed with a highly magnified section from a wild orchid. See http://ualresearchonline.arts.ac.uk/5104/ |
