Description: | An article about the photographer Jean Staker, who was included in Val Williams' and Bob Pullen's exhibition Soho Archives. Sraker's archive is housed at the National Media Museum, and was central to the exhibition. The research which Williams and Pullen made in the archive, which was deposited directly from Straker's studio was the first exploration of this photographer's work. Straker photographed the female nude, usually in erotic and anatomical poses. His premises in Soho was the site of an academy, attended by amateur photographers in the 1950s and used as a location for erotic photography of professional models. |
