| Description: | Phd Graduation film, inspired by science fiction (J.G.Ballard, Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB, Fantastic Voyage) and neurobiological delivery mechanisms found in humans, animals and insects. The film supports my PhD thesis title: 'Interactive Olfactory Surfaces - A Science Fashion Story' (Printed Textiles 1997) About the film: 'A new development taking inspiration from biology conjures up multi-sensorial fabrics for the 'Wellness Collection'. Science Fashion fabrics concentrate on a therapeutic approach introducing the living active garment as a 'Smart Second Skin...The wellness second skin is a smart outer body non-invasive experience making you closer the world, your environment, body, senses, mind and soul'. The Wellness Collection will sooth relax, stimulate, energise, massage and motivate. A dynamic active reactive surface mimics the skin, organs and the beat of a pulsating heart......' 'Will fabrics ever become computerised? Everything will, us included, People are becoming computerised. It's dangerous - but it's the future....' |
