| Description: | The Red Planet Dresses were originally designed by Helen Storey in 1995 when she ran a commercial fashion business. Donated by Helen Storey from her personal archive the dresses are sprayed with the air purifying technology. The exhibition, 'A Fashion Universe', is held as part of October Fashion Month at Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Meadowhall will be working with London College of Fashion’s Professor, Helen Storey MBE, Professor Tony Ryan OBE from the University of Sheffield and the Centre for Sustainable Fashion to help showcase not only the breadth and depth of fashion available at Meadowhall, but what this may look like in the future. The Red Planet Dress will be exhibited as part of an installation of ‘future fashion’ concepts from students within the Centre of Sustainable Fashion. A shop in Eldon Square formed a Catalytic Clothing ‘pop up gallery’. The exhibition included two Red Planet Dresses, a mini FIELD OF JEANS and The Catalytic Clothing Story film. The gallery formed part of Newcastle Science Festival. |
