Description: | This chapter offers a distinctive contribution to this leading publication through its articulation of the author’s work in Design for Sustainability (DfS) through a narrative of the author’s transition from designer to researcher in devising and setting up Centre for Sustainable Fashion. Describing three of the centre’s initial projects, each led by the author, the chapter offers first hand insights into London Style, an ERDF funded project, working with 100 London based designers, which went on to be showcased at London Fashion Week for three seasons. Fashioning the Future has gone on to work with over 30 countries and over 3000 students, with work selected for the Design Museum’s Sustainable Design Exhibition. CSF has gone on to be awarded a Green Gown Award for research and the author shortlisted for Source Award for Outstanding Contribution to furthering sustainability in the fashion sector 2012. |
