Emotion and memory: clothing the body as performance

The chapter addresses the intersection between fashion and performance and argues that clothing the body can be understood not only as scenography but as performance in its own right. The research is developed through an analysis of scenography, character, narrative embodiment, and time based communication enabling a dialogue between the two seemingly very different design processes. By employing an interdisciplinary analysis of theory, practice and design methods the research exposes an integrated interdisciplinary methodology enabling analysis through the researcher's practice in interdisciplinary clothing design.
