Description: | TREE is a permanent artwork to mark the Charles Darwin bi-centenary, commissioned by and installed in the Natural History Museum, London. TREE developed from Kovat’s research in South America which informed a proposal that won a competitive bid against other artists, including Turner prizewinners. TREE was judged by a panel of art professionals and scientists. Fundamental to the project was a commitment to bringing this work to a wide audience that included art professionals, Darwin scholars, scientists and members of the general public through the artwork, publication and Radio Broadcast (BBC Radio 4). |
