Description: | The award-winning catalogue for an exhibition of contemporary art, designed by A2/SW/HK. Bringing together work by Christine Borland, Cai Guo-Qiang, Charles Crumb, Marlene Dumas, Susan Hiller, William Kentridge, Paul McCarthy, Elizabeth Manchester, Daniela Steinfeld and Jon Thompson, this show was curated for Arnolfini in Bristol and Kettle's Yard in Cambridge, 2002–3, by Roger Malbert, with Lucy Steeds. In addition to overseeing work on the book, Lucy contributed an essay, 'Deep Play', which takes a charcoal print-drawing by Jasper Johns, 'Study for Skin I' (1962), and his lithograph based on this work, 'Skin with O'Hara Poem' (1963–65), as historical anchors for the exhibition. |
