For her solo exhibition at Durham Art Gallery Sigune Hamann has responded to the concurrent showing of the Lindisfarne Gospels at Durham Cathedral and the process of the manuscript’s creation.

The exhibition included two new commissions: a series of stones with inscribed lettering in response to a pebble from the 8th century in the National Gallery in Scotland, and a new series of portraits taken in the streets in Japan and London displayed in public sites throughout Durham.

The exhibition also showed a 56 m film-strip installation, other video and photographic works, and included the launch of a diorama multiple with the multiple store.

The exhibition opened on the day of the Miners' Gala.
