Fabulae Romanae: Lucy+Jorge Orta

Fabulae Romanae is a body of work by Lucy + Jorge Orta resulting from a commission by Ermenegildo Zegna - ZegnArt and realised in collaboration with London College of Fashion alumni and the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University of the Arts London.

Fabulae Romanae was presented for the first time as an installation at the MAXXI National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome from March to September 2012.

The ‘Spirit’ sculptures, mysterious figures who inhabit the city of Rome portrayed within the film and on exhibit in the museum, trace a symbolic excursus across the city drawing from archaeological and historical research, and observations on the cultural and social map of the city.
