| Description: | As a contribution to the Anxiety Arts Festival London 2014, the artist Paul Coldwell presented a display at the Freud Museum which featured new work in cast metal and glass; the result of visual research in the archives of the Bethlem Museum. The work takes the motif of the charm bracelet to suggest desires and how these in turn can become anxieties, burdens and restraints. Presenting this work in the context of the Freud Museum where it can be seen alongside Freud’s collection of objects and antiquities provides an added resonance. |
