Description: | SENSORY FASHION is a project that explores wearable technologies as an extension of ‘aromachology’ (the study of aroma and the effects this fragrance have on human psychology and behaviuor); the perception of a particular aroma could be induced by electronically controlled to reduce stress and anxiety, Improve sleep and help manage lifestyle for people living with General and Chronic mental health conditions stimulation to reduce stress, improve sleep and help manage lifestyle for people with general and chronic mental health conditions. Sensory Fashion chooses scents as a tool to improve mental and physical wellbeing. It fuses fashion with emerging technologies, to create responsive clothes that offer social and therapeutic value in a desirable fashion context. Sensory Fashion provides wellbeing research with new tools to unlock emotional memories and to complement mood monitoring tools for the ‘Quantified Self’, to combat depression and help with stress and sleeping issues. In the future, several psychiatric disorders could be explored as an application of Sensory Fashion. These applications could help us to deal with more and more common conditions such as mood symptoms in bipolar disorder, anxiety, postnatal depression or panic disorder. |
