The paper presented audio-visual observational data to analyse the place of subject discipline area in student group identifications. Focusing on the subject of fashion media, it suggested that theoretical debates within post-colonial, multicultural, globalisation and related areas of theory furnish invaluable concepts both for research of student interaction, and for successful intervention aimed at creating a learning environment which is truly international.
