Description: | Drawing on personal experience of working as a volunteer designer with various HIV/AIDS organisations, this article looks at how designers can become 'embedded' with charities, NGOs and social causes as a model of good practice. It also discusses how social responsibility and ways of working with charities can be introduced to design students in order to build mutually beneficial relationships. Article commissioned for a Special Issue of the Australian Graphic Design Association Journal, visual:design:scholarship. |
