Description: | The body of work: The Museum of non Participation by Brad Butler and Karen Mirza has been nominated for Artes Mundi 6 described as "Wales’ largest contemporary visual art show. One of the shortlisted artists is awarded the prize of £40,000, the largest art prize in the UK and one of the most significant in the world". Focusing on contemporary visual artists who engage with the human condition, social reality and lived experience, the Museum of non Participation is representing the UK as one of 9 nominees. The MNP nomination includes the staging of a 4 month exhibition, a performance, a project space and an intervention. Interweaving a series of works, this exhibition suggests Unreliable Narration as a contemporary social and political condition, migrating it from its established space as a literary device. |
