| Description: | For my Acts Re-Acts residency at Wimbledon Space I made work based on research about Crystal Palace Sports Centre. Reflecting on the monumental concrete struts, which form the internal supporting spine of the building, I re-made these as a large-scale fabric piece. So both their structural function and role in the monumentality of the building are inverted. From being massive, supporting structures they instead generate a floppy, playful environment for the audience. The flexible, mobile nature of the piece is intended as an interpretation of the myriad spaces and experiences enabled by the building of Crystal Palace Sports Centre. |
