Description: | Video 6:36 Marines / Cheerleaders / Carly Rae Jepsen Call Me Maybe / Tiqqun Preliminary Materials for a Theory of the Young-Girl / Gesture / Fan / Re-enactment/ CUT Yes to Life, reconfigures screen culture’s affective debris into an unstable choreography. Remixing two viral fan performances of Call Me Maybe it reads institutional formations – the militainment complex - through the lens of soft power, affective labour, and digital virality. As a re-enactment of a re-enactment, the video deploys Tiqqun’s Preliminary Materials for a Theory of the Young-Girl, reading fan-performance and digital mimesis as symptoms of late-stage libidinal capitalism. The cut here is deployed as critical method—producing frame rate artefacts as afterimage. |
