Description:	Lecture/performance by David Toop for the Silence and Music symposium at the Royal College of Music, London, organised by the Science Museum as part of their AHRC funded project, Music, Noise and Silence, developed in conjunction with the Royal College of Music and the University of Nottingham. The lecture considered aspects of silence within the terms of François Jullien's book, In Praise of Blandness, including the writings of Samuel Beckett and Jane Austen, and anthropologist Mary Douglas.
