| Description: | ‘Photography as Installation’ was an MA Photography Alumni Group exhibition at Oxford House in Bethnal Green. This exhibition brings together new work by graduates from the MA Photography course at London College of Communication. Over the last 16 years this fine art photography course has seen a significant shift toward an expanded notion of photography in situ. These works either come into being in the specific installation context, or develop notions of installation through documentation or performative modes of display. This sculptural development, in addition to a noteworthy dedication to the materiality of the image-surface, sheds light on what photography is today, including images of installations, images for installations as well as spatial installations of photographic images. Curated by Wiebke Leister, Course Leader MA Photography, and Adrian Wood, LCC MAP Alumni Group Ambassador. Featuring new works and writing by Peter Ainsworth, Pablo Antolí, Diane Bielik, Ella Bryant, Teresa Eng, Kate Elliott, Maria Gafarova, Jo Gane, Lydia Goldblatt, Jochen Klein, Richard Kolker, Kevin Newark, Elisa Noguera Lopez, Francesca Marcaccio Hitzeman & Federica Landi, Katja Mayer, Minna Pöllänen, Ian Rudgewick-Brown, Marcello Simeone, Sayako Sugawara, Sara Wellenkamp, Adrian Wood. |
