Touching on the Virtual in the Future of Fashion Education

Rainey, Marilyn and Sanguino, Liliana and Chan, Shee Fun and Pegg, James (2015) Touching on the Virtual in the Future of Fashion Education. In: Fashion Colloquia Shanghai, 21-22 April 2015, Donghua University, Shanghai, China.

Type of Research: Conference, Symposium or Workshop Item
Creators: Rainey, Marilyn and Sanguino, Liliana and Chan, Shee Fun and Pegg, James
Description:

Fashion education across the world should be addressing the relationship between the designer and wearer. This dialogue has become non-existent as the relationship between dressmaker and customer has fractured, with a number of ‘others’ ( buyers, sales teams, shop floor), taking on a role. MUSE is a project which focuses on the importance of touch for understanding fashion and how it supplements the sense of sight and how these understandings can develop teaching and learning.
