| Description: | Artists from a variety of media – painting, sculpture, video & sound, installation, drawing, printmaking and fashion - are invited to explore and question cultural boundaries. How individuals connect or reflect to local cultures and what are the interactions created between them and the international realities? The Book of Knowledge – Whitney McVeigh Whitney McVeigh will create an archive through the general public inviting them to make a note and record and respond to one of four words. The act of writing and placing of the paper invites a kind of processing and letting go, becoming a form of ritual. Something that can be later read as a collective document and an opportunity for ordinary people to place their thoughts publicly yet anonymously. The four words are as follows: 1. Land = Γη In the room will hang several wires. The public will be invited to attach their responses to each line. The room will gradually over the period fill with a collective archive of notes with meaning. The paper provided is from the historical archive of Kathimerini Newspaper and also from The New Book of Knowledge. |
