Linen and Silk

The exhibition, Fabric of the City, held in July 2015, at the Bank Gallery, Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University, London E1, showcased the creative and diverse range of textile design practices thriving in the East End of London. Designer and curator Gina Pierce invited contemporary fashion and textile studios in London, to respond to 18th century Spitalfields Silks, as a means of highlighting the survival and co-dependence of creativity to our capital’s culture and industry.
