Commission for permanent installations by Future City for the Outpatients and Critical Care Area of the new Royal Papwoth Hospital, Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Research explores temporal and spatial aspects of image perception including stillness and movement, rhythm and continuity, scale, level of abstraction and specificity, representation and transparency and health and wellbeing. Commemorating the original Papworth Hospital and Papworth experiment the installations in the new hospital create varying environments for patients, visitors and staff: 360degree film-strip installation for a 457 m2 waiting area, a double-sided diorama installation with layers of translucent film dividing the entrance atrium and the staff room, custom made circular lightboxes with two layers of photographic film and dimmers for interview rooms ranging from 1.40m to 0.60m diameter.
