Contribution to 'Decolonising Art History'

Contribution to the February 2020 issue of the journal Art History, which sees the publication of a major new intervention, ‘Decolonizing Art History’. Co-ordinated by editor Dorothy Price and editorial board member Catherine Grant, it brings together a set of responses to a questionnaire on this important disciplinary topic from thirty art historians, artists, critics and curators. Building on Price’s previous editorials in the journal, ‘Whose Art History?’ and ‘Art History at the Barricades’, it assembles a range of different voices in a vital debate about ongoing concerns and priorities for the field of art history.

‘Decolonizing Art History’ is free to download so that it can be read and shared as widely as possible.
